With the capacity to collect valid data over a 120 m (400 ft) range, the 500-kHz Argonaut-SL increases the maximum profiling range over existing Argonaut-SL systems by a factor of six.
The 500-kHz works just like the more than 1000 other Argonaut-SLs currently in daily operation around the world. It uses a single user-programmable cell in addition to an optional multi-cell feature that profiles currents away from the system. Flow disturbances caused by the mounting structure or any other nearby object can be eliminated by placing the start-point of the measurement cells beyond the area of interference.
